As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the services Fatsoma provides to event promoters and consumers, we have spent the last few weeks revamping our Photography features. The Photographers section is now a stand-alone application in a dedicated area of Fatsoma, offering new capabilities to Photographers and Promoters alike.

One of the main avenues for viral distribution of content and word-of-mouth referrals in the nightlife and event promotions industry is photography, and it is a founding philosophy for Fatsoma that photographers are integral to the success of any event.
With the addition of the new and improved Photography section, it is now even easier for:
a) Photographers to find new events to photograph at, and
b) Promoters to search for and invite photographers to their events.
Coupled with our tight integration with Facebook (through tagging and commenting on photos), event Photography is a recipe for viral success, as your photos (complete with custom logo branding) get distributed effortlessly around the web, spreading the word about your events.
Plus, it’s a great way for Photographers to gain experience and notoriety for their work, and the new features in the Photographers section help you keep up with how your photos are being received and interacted with by event goers.
Look out for the new Photographers section, which will be released along with a ton of other major improvements in the very near future.

Using our recently developed Site Builder, Fatsoma has take on a large client in the heart of Liverpool. The Liverpool Olympia is one of the city’s most established live events arenas. Holding a capacity of up to 2,000 people, the Olympia hosts events from renowned bands like the Kooks to world class international wrestling or an evening with Ricky ‘the Hitman’ Hatton.
After www.liverpoololympia.com went live, the management immediately listed tickets for their upcoming shows and used the HTML newsletter builder to produce a professional newsletter to send out to its members. The newsletter stats showed the response rate from the email and they immediately began to sell eTickets.
The most notable success was the ‘Bill Shankly Show on April 24th 2008′. After listing 3 types of eTickets all ranging in price, within 2 weeks the venue had sold out their allocation of 400 tickets. They could monitor exactly how many tickets had been sold and had a list of names and reference numbers to check off on the door. What’s more with Fatsoma’s eTicketing system, they didn’t have to post tickets to buyers which in the past proved to be a headache and their funds were safely stored in one place to be withdrawn after the show.
Following the success of the Shankly Show the Olympia have upped their eTicket allocation for other events. They were also able to re-contact the new members they generated to promote a follow-up event, “Liverpool Supporters Union ‘Spirit of Shankly’ End of Season Party.”
The Liverpool Olympia is a great example of how a venue can use Fatsoma’s online tools to market events, build an audience and a targeted database. They will be running more and more events over the Summer of 2008 such as TNA Wrestling, Cage Gladiators VIII, the Ladyboys of Bangkok and the Miss Merseyside Final. The venue continues to go from strength to strength and we are pleased to have them on board!
